Ceramides are essential for a luminous, hydrated and radiant complexion. Naturally present in the skin, this real skin cement is however not indefinitely renewable… So, where are ceramides found and what are their actions and results for the skin?
What are they?
A fatty substance essential to healthy skin, ceramides are naturally present in all layers of the skin and make up 50% of the skin’s composition. In their natural state in the body, they ensure good cohesion between skin cells and form a kind of intercellular cement. The structures of ceramides are heterogeneous and complex and they are also known as: ceramide 1, ceramide 2, ceramide 3, ceramide EOS… Necessary to ensure the integrity of the epidermis, they are also present in the hair bulb and allow, among other things, good nutrition and good protection of the hair.
Where to find them?
