Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids are lipids. They are essential allies to nourish, comfort and protect the skin.
Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids are so-called unsaturated lipids (fats), due to their structure comprising one or more specific bonds between carbon atoms. Omega 3 (of which the main representative is linolenic acid) and 6 (of which the main representative is linoleic acid) are essential fatty acids, because our body does not know how to produce them. Essential for the proper functioning of the body and good health, they must therefore be provided through food.
“Essential for the proper functioning of the body and good health, they [Omega 3] must therefore be provided through food.”
What are the benefits of omega 3, 6 and 9 for the skin?
If the emphasis is often placed on the hydration of the skin (where it is therefore a question of water), this also depends on lipids! Indeed, the cells of the stratum corneum of the epidermis, the most superficial layer of the skin, are surrounded by lipids which act as cement. They thus limit the insensible loss of water (evaporation of water from the skin).
Among these lipids, we find ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids. Providing omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids strengthens this lipid cement and thus the barrier function of the skin. On its surface, they also contribute to the hydrolipidic film, essential to the skin ecosystem.
Applied to the skin, they nourish it and contribute to its hydration and suppleness. Some also have a soothing effect (omega 3). Fatty acids 3, 6 and 9 are therefore interesting on the plate, but also in our care!

What is the specificity of the omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids that we have selected?
In order to provide your skin with all the benefits of omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, we have chosen Ahiflower® & Meadowfoam® oils for their high content of omega 6 and 9 and Abyssinian® oil for its richness in omega 3. True concentrates of comfort, these oils also contain anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory molecules, which fight against environmental aggressions and the minor irritations that result from them.
